About Fr Matthew P. Schneider, LC

In 2001, I traveled from Calgary, Canada to join the Legion. Since then I’ve been all over North America and spent some time in Rome. I currently reside in Washington doing a bunch of writing and taking care of the community while studying my Licentiate in Theology (between Masters and Doctorate). I’m most well-known on Instagram and Twitter where I have about 6,500 and 40,000 followers respectively.

A Modern Cross

Okay, today I have a completely different reflection. I have done very little art since St Rose of Lima Elementary School. I doodle a lot but that is more for something to do and nobody would consider that art. A … Continue reading

2000 Pages

Second year Theology has a reputation for a lot of study. Each semester we have about 2000 pages of required reading material to go along with twenty hours of classes. Sometimes we complain. I caught myself joining some complaining the … Continue reading

Remember Everyone for Christmas

This week involves last minute Christmas shopping. Everyone has one last gift to find. Before entering the Legion, I tended to get most gifts in November but would inevitably forget someone. We want to make everyone we care about happy. … Continue reading

Alter Christus, Altera Hostia

This morning I had to help 4 Calgarians to get to the priestly ordinations. I got to their hotel and we were on the Metro when they suggested a little stop before St John Latern. They were only going to be … Continue reading

A Vocation Report in Forbes

A few months back, Forbes magazine did a report on the 10 Happiest Jobs. And, big surprise, clergy came out at number 1. Some of the other jobs in the top ten are financial services salesmen (9), physical therapists (3), … Continue reading
