About Fr Matthew P. Schneider, LC

In 2001, I traveled from Calgary, Canada to join the Legion. Since then I’ve been all over North America and spent some time in Rome. I currently reside in Washington doing a bunch of writing and taking care of the community while studying my Licentiate in Theology (between Masters and Doctorate). I’m most well-known on Instagram and Twitter where I have about 6,500 and 40,000 followers respectively.

The Little Hill

Nothing

Asleep awake the bell still roars, To play to eat my soul it bores. The sun through pallid branches shines, The train down in the valley whines  But life must have more than just these, Like dogs I stand and … Continue reading

The Sacred Heart Gnome

During the novena before the feast of the Sacred Heart, I would receive a little note under my door each day. It had a paragraph reflecting on Christ’s heart and his love for us – moreover, in English. I appreciated … Continue reading

Zebra Mosquitoes

The sun beats down. Hour by hour the petals on the flower wither, turn brown, and fall off. The grass turns brown despite daily watering. A fan is needed in the shade. The sweat forms on my arm. It evaporates … Continue reading
