Wrong is wrong…

Wrong is wrong even if everybody is doing it, and right is right even if nobody is doing it.’  St. Augustine

Peer pressure can push us all down slippery slopes; Christ needs you to be lights that shine in darkness especially in today’s culture.

  1. Gossip- don’t add fuel to the flame, and try to talk about something other than “people” unless it is positive.
  2. Parties- give an example of self-control in how much you drink
  3. Immoral conversations- take the lead in edifying and uplifting conversations with your friends
  4. Bad language- be the “aroma of Christ” both on and off the field.
  5. Fidelity in marriage…down to the details!

    Father Michael,

Any idea on how to “take the lead in edifying and uplifting conversations with your friends” without being annoying?

    Response from Father Sliney….

    Dear Francois in Christ,
The key is to be proactive in coming up with solid themes beforehand, and to take the lead in the conversation early. You need to know your audience, so prudence and moderation are obviously required. Docility to the Holy Spirit is critical as well.

    God bless,
    Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

I think you gave us the true definition of leadership as it applies to any aspects of our lives,
