“Put sin aside and persevere in running the race which lies ahead. Keep our eyes fixed
on Jesus. For the sake of the joy that lays before us, let us take up our cross.” Hebrews 12:1-4.
George Washington lost most of his battles, but he won the war. His dogged perseverance, his focus on the nobility of the goal, and his trust in God’s Providence eventually brought our nation to victory and freedom. God is not concerned about how often we fall, but he is concerned that we get back up. The stakes are very high: our eternal salvation and that of many other souls entrusted to us. Keep your eyes on Christ, fight off useless discouragement, and carry your cross with love and enthusiasm! The finish line is not far away and Christ is truly counting on us!
