Treat others as you would like them to treat you

“So always treat others as you would like them to treat you; that is the Law and the prophets.” Mt 7: 12

Sunday dessert was a special thing in the seminary in Rome. A platter of Italian pastries would arrive on your table and one by one the seminarians would take one and pass it around. Usually the first seminarian would take the least desirable pastry and the last seminarian at the table would have the most succulent one waiting for him. This charity applied to pizza as well…the middle piece with the most pepperoni and cheese would always be waiting for the last seminarian. What a great environment when everyone is worried more about pleasing others than oneself!
