Greetings from beautiful Cancun! We are all getting ready to settle in for the night after a fairly uneventful day at the airport. We only had one little problem when Greg decided to take someone else’s suitcase, but his better half, Angela, caught him before security got to him.
It has been a bit hard to communicate with you all back home since there is no wi-fi in the airport and all the payphones are in Spanish. So we decided to send you a picture of all of us here at the City of Joy, happy to have arrived safe and sound.
We were very excited to discover that our rooms here have air-conditioning, but then we were quick to learn that not all air conditioners are created equal. Perhaps this is preparing us for our next few nights in the Mayan jungle.
We had our opening Mass and the imposition of crosses to send us forth on the mission. Father and Margie had their own mission trying to get the crosses untangled!
We followed with a hearty meal and then a quick organizational meeting and then most everybody headed off to bed (as you know we had a pretty early morning!)
We look forward to sharing more with you as the days go by (but our wifi will be even more limited in Nuevo Durango). Please keep us in your prayers!
