God looks at the heart

“Human beings judge one another by their external actions. God judges them by their moral choices.” — CS Lewis

During one of our mission trips in El Salvador, a woman from a very poor village asked if we would be coming back later in the day, because she wanted to give us a gift…I told her that we would not make it back to her home, but invited her to come to the Mass in the village later in the afternoon. So shortly after Mass, she presented me with a huge loaf of bread that she had personally baked later that morning…and these are people that make $5 a day in the coffee fields with barely enough to feed their own family. So powerful!
