Most of us, I hope, will be in Church on Thursday evening during this holiest of weeks celebrating the Mass of our Lord’s Last Supper.

But what would you say if I told you that, during the afternoon, you could spend the “evening” with our Lord in Gethsemane, watching with Him, as he asked his disciples to do some 2000 years ago?

You can, through the magic of modern technology!

Fr. Eamon Kelly LC, vice charge of the Notre Dame Jerusalem Center in the Holy Land, will be providing English commentary during the Franciscan Media Center broadcast of the Holy Thursday evening Eucharistic Hour in the church on the site of the Garden of the Olives, where our Lord suffered his agony and sweat blood in anticipation of His passion.

The broadcast is regularly transmitted in many languages so the faithful can participate around the world.  Though the ceremony takes place at 9:00 pm in Jerusalem, the holy city is several hours ahead of us in the North American continent.  The broadcast will be shown on EWTN in North America at 3:00 pm EST and on CatholicTV at 5:00 pm.

It will be streaming live on the Internet from the church on site at www.fmc-terrasanta.org.   In Europe, viewers can watch on the Italian station TV2000, and in France on KTO.
