Love for the Catholic Church

“It is impossible to be just to the Catholic Church. The moment men cease to pull against it they feel a tug towards it. The moment they cease to shout it down they begin to listen to it with pleasure. The moment they try to be fair to it they begin to be fond of it. But when that affection has passed a certain point it begins to take on the tragic and menacing grandeur of a great love affair.” – G. K. Chesterton

Although the Catholic Church was founded by Christ and has had a long history of holiness and amazing Saints, there have also been some major bumps along the way because of weak human instruments. But the “gates of hell have not prevailed against it”, and the Holy Spirit has protected the integrity of our Faith, our Sacraments and our hierarchical structure that Christ himself established 2000 years ago. We certainly have plenty of bruises and scars in our history, but please don’t allow this to be your excuse to not take advantage of these tremendous means of holiness!! Go frequently to Mass and Confession!!
