For almost two years, I ran the library with great efficiency. We added more than 6,000 new books to the system and reduced the turn-around time when books were asked for by 80 percent. I say “we” because I could never have done that alone, I had a great team helping me. But now the time has come to pass it on.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of those who helped me. So often everyone looks to the one in charge and holds him responsible. However, most of the real work is done by others. It’s so easy to forget to thank everyone who helped out.
Now I switch to another responsibility in the house, silently serving the community. I see such service as an opportunity to win graces for the whole community. Nobody sees me, few know what I do, yet such hidden charity builds the body of Christ, the Church.
No matter whether we are on the giving or receiving side of hidden charity, there are graces to be one and charity to be practiced.
