About Fr Matthew P. Schneider, LC

In 2001, I traveled from Calgary, Canada to join the Legion. Since then I’ve been all over North America and spent some time in Rome. I currently reside in Washington doing a bunch of writing and taking care of the community while studying my Licentiate in Theology (between Masters and Doctorate). I’m most well-known on Instagram and Twitter where I have about 6,500 and 40,000 followers respectively.

Where did you go?

One night I was there in the community, planning to work on two projects in the week before we left for vacation. The next morning I was gone. At 4 am, my lights start flashing, and someone is telling me … Continue reading

Formation and Apostolate

Let me share a question I reflected on in a private meeting with our vicar general, Fr Sylvester, last month when he visited our center. Yes, some ordinary brother like me can get a meeting with the vicar general. I … Continue reading

Spouse of the Church

When I was working back in Ohio, I stayed with a diocesan priest a few times. He mentioned he was working on his doctorate, but it seemed like it was a long time in progress. I wished him luck and … Continue reading

Another One Bites the Dust

Around here exams are in full swing. Some professors have reputations for giving everyone a pass if you appear to have studied, while others are famous for asking for footnote references in 500-page textbooks (the professor most famous for such … Continue reading
