“It is great wisdom to know how to be silent and to look at neither the remarks, nor the deeds, nor the lives of others.”– St. John of the Cross
There are too many conversations, too much mental thought, too much time and energy wasted on analyzing other people’s shortcomings or defects. Those who are responsible for that particular person need to bring some issues to light and offer correction. But for the most part, we should not get involved in gossip or in the negative aspects of those around us. Focus on the positive. Learn from the good. Build people up and emulate their virtues…and if you can’t, then learn to love silence.
