A Crazy Week

The last week has felt like a complete whirlwind that I can just now step back and see. It all started on the 3rd when I received the ministry of acolyte at mass. Since then I feel like I have been running from one thing to another.

I played soccer, worked on a project, filmed a scene for our kings celebration, studied a little, worked on the project some more, went to an afternoon of conferences on the Internet, went back to the project, caught a cold, went to a conference on our charism, asked a tough question, went to bed early, spent most of Epiphany in bed, went to our kings celebration, woke up semi-sick but continued the project,  distributed communion for the first time as a Legionary, played soccer again, returned to the project, went to the first day of classes, finished one part of the project, realized that somebody already did that part, held my head in my hands, attend the second day of classes, toured the Vatican museums, went to Wednesday’s classes, and Wednesday afternoon I finally finish my part of the project I have been working on for a month. Now I can study for exams.

In the rush, there were many blessings. In fact such, such a rush is a blessing as it gives me so many opportunities to help others. God has called us to be men of action not mossy rocks.

But at the same time, it is so easy to forget to pray well. The temptation is to cut corners here and there.

PS:  I will write my next post about what the big project was but I don’t want to spoil it.

About Fr Matthew P. Schneider, LC

In 2001, I traveled from Calgary, Canada to join the Legion. Since then I’ve been all over North America and spent some time in Rome. I currently reside in Washington doing a bunch of writing and taking care of the community while studying my Licentiate in Theology (between Masters and Doctorate). I’m most well-known on Instagram and Twitter where I have about 6,500 and 40,000 followers respectively.
