“If a tiny spark of God’s love already burns within you, do not expose it to the wind, for it may get blown out…. Stay quiet with God. Do not spend your time in useless chatter…. Do not give yourself to others so completely that you have nothing left for yourself.” (St. Charles Borromeo)
There is so little silence in our culture today. Our soul needs silence. Our soul thirsts for silence. Several moms have told me how it important it is for them to get up a little early, find a quiet place in their home to read Scripture and pray for 20 minutes or so before the kids get up. We need this calm before the storm, and God will notice and bless this humble effort.
And let’ s not forget dads. It seems that men are less proned to seek silence and make their spirituel side grow. At least, that’s my problem as a man.
