Joshua works at Lowe’s. I met him back in December when I needed to get more a more specific type of light bulbs for some of the light fixtures in my community’s home.
It was at the end of the day; it was already dark out, and I wasn’t the only customer trying to get home.
When I was finally the next one to be rung up at the cash register, as the couple ahead of me turned to go, I heard him say, “Merry Christmas!” and then surprisingly, “God bless!”
What? Maybe I hadn’t heard correctly…who would actually say “God bless”?
He greeted me and started ringing me up. When I handed him our Texas tax exempt form and the phone number they had registered with our tax exempt form in their system, he asked, “Where is the 401 area code from?”
I told him it was from Rhode Island and that we were missionaries, to which he replied that his wife had done missionary work in South America not too long ago and that it had been a good experience for her.
Handing me my plastic bag, he said “Merry Christmas, and God bless!” So I had heard correctly…
“God bless you to, sir!”
Thank you, Joshua, for your testimony of bringing your faith to your work place!
