Top Ten Hopes for 2014 (in no particular order)

1. Regnum Christi and the Legion of Christ will emerge from the accompaniment of the Holy See able to joyfully, openly and effectively serve Christ and His Church.

2. Americans will actually read the U.S. Constitution and understand why it is important to enumerate not what government will do for you but what government will not do to you.

3. The news media will report what Pope Francis says instead of what they think he ought to say.

4. The Russians will get through the Winter Olympics without a terrorist attack, while avoiding the incarceration of half their population as a security measure.

5. The United States will fix its broken immigration system and secure its sovereignty.

6. Students the world over will spend less time engrossed in social media and more time reading books (especially honest history).

7. Readers everywhere will discover the prescience of Robert Hugh Benson.

8. The Chicago Blackhawks will again win the Stanley Cup.

9. I will catch lots of nice fish.

10. My patience and understanding will grow – a lot.
