Third week of Advent

We continue in our path to the discover those words that mark the season; we’ve reflected upon joy and hope, this week let’s get a closer look into peace.

Peace: No fast walking, no texts, no chat rooms, no loud music, no shopping sprees, no cyber space — none of that fast pace that the world imposes on us today. Totally the opposite. A silent night, a sky full of stars, only the music of nature, the animals breathing, the shepherds wondering, a baby babbling, a soft lullaby. It seems that the whole world came to a stop that one night. One small baby lying in a manger in a small smelly and wet cave brings some much peace into the world.

Could it be that precisely when we are detached of external things we find inner peace? Does this happen just when we know that it is only God and us? When, in that silence, I encounter God within me? Could it be that when I leave other securities aside and put my trust in Him and Him alone I find the strongest security?

Pope Francis shares “Peace is a good which overcomes every barrier because it belongs to all of humanity.”
