Spring Break: Sun, beach, sleep, travel…only one of them was a reality for 78 young people who left their country to go serve those in need.
60 young men traveled to Mexico to bring all their skills: carpentry, masonry, building, roofing. Their goal: Bring hope to the people of Ahuazotepec, Puebla, and build three houses and repair 10 roofs.
Another 18 college students from Texas are here in Haiti with me. Our objective: Bring Christ’s love to hundreds of malnourished babies.
This Spring Break Christ is out and about through these young people. In both countries the language is a barrier, but actually we all speak the universal language of the Church: LOVE. Within the valleys of Mexico or the Missionaries of Charity compound their missionary t-shirts, with the big missionary cross on the back, is the sign for all the villagers, moms and babies, that Christ is passing by.
