A MOTHER’S BOND

Today at the malnourished clinic in Haiti was “Mother’s visiting day”. Over a hundred cranky, crying sick babies were suddenly calm when the doors of the rooms were opened and the mothers start marching in.

Maybe the mother can’t give some basic and fundamental “things” to their babies, (that’s why they are here, sick), but they still can give THE basic and fundamental element: LOVE!

I wonder back at home if we are giving to our children some fundamental things or the fundamental element of LOVE. What am I giving, what am I receiving?

Lent, a time to give Christ the basic fundamental element of love, so He can endure what is to come. Just like these babies, they can endure it all with the love they received by their moms, by the Missionaries of Charity and by the Mission Youth missionaries.
