Thanksgiving with the Consecrated

Guys aren’t always the best at interior design. I remember when I went to our Italian headquarters: we noted how a room was decorated and said it must have been done by the consecrated women.

This year I ate Thanksgiving in a room better decorated than any since I have joined the Legion.

During my course in Madrid, an American consecrated woman came up to a group of us and mentioned that we need to organize something for Thanksgiving. I said “sure,” noting I was a Canadian and Thanksgiving is in October. But I had no idea how to do such things there.

The next day, she said she had a room reserved and knew where to find some Turkey. The day after that (obviously last Thursday), once we finished, she invited us down to a small dining room some women had decorated for us. There were 7 of us: 3 consecrated women, 3 priests, and me, the lone brother.

We talked and chatted for a while. Then on the way home, the priest driving missed our exit and got lost.

It is great to hear what everyone is thankful for. I think we need to be so thankful for all these consecrated women who add so much to the Movement.
