On the eve of ordinations

“He is with me, and what can I fear?…I look neither behind nor before, only UP.” (Blessed Elizabeth Ann Seton)

Tomorrow morning, 49 of our young men will be ordained priests in Rome. I still remember the morning of my ordination. I had a really hard time sleeping with all of the anticipation and it all started to become real as I went down to the chapel for morning prayers. My first thought after breakfast was to go directly to the chapel and spend a good 30-40 minutes with Christ. I was a little nervous. This was a big step and a permanent commitment. But after 40 minutes of intimate dialogue with Christ, I was totally at peace and ready to go. “He is with me, and what can I fear?”
