My Mom’s Birthday

Good evening. I briefly interrupt my vacations to ask all of you to pray for my mom on her 85th birthday, which is tomorrow. Thanks be to God, she is in good health and has a strong Faith, and this poem below expresses some of my sentiments as well. Have a blessed evening!

Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Mom in Christ,
To My Mom, the Best Mom!

Eighty five years of service and self-giving,
You’re an example of true Christian living.
I am your son, mom, and you have formed my heart,
I learned so much from you from the very start.

Not a day goes by, without you in my mind,
In spite of my pride, you’ve always been so kind.
My words are weak, it really hard to express,
The gratitude I feel, you are the best! (And I mean THE BEST!!)

Thank you mom, thank you for loving me so long,
You’ve truly inspired me to remain strong!
The gift I offer as a priest is to pray,
With true “heart-felt” love on this your birthday!

God bless you,
Fr. Michael Sliney, LC

One Response to My Mom’s Birthday

  1. Kelly Luttinen says:

Today is my daughter’s birthday. She is 17. She is on the verge of adulthood in a scarey world, and she needs all the grace she can to eventually look back on a life like your mother’s, God willing. I ask you to pray for my daughter, and I will pray for your mom as she get closer to her eternal reward.
