Effective generosity

“Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap.” LK 6: 38

I recently found out that three rising 3rd grade boys in our Leadership Training Program spontaneously decided to tell their family and friends that in lieu of receiving presents this year, they wanted all birthday gifts to be directed to financially supporting the poor villages in El Salvador that we visit each Christmas. Pretty amazing sacrifice and I am sure that this will not go unnoticed by Christ!  Another mom organized a jewelry trunk sale in which part of the proceeds will also go towards El Salvador. This donation will help re-build one of the small chapels there in a village we have been visiting for the past 3 years…and I know these folks will be very happy!
