Holy Communion

“At communion we ought to ask for the remedy of the vice to which we feel ourselves most inclined.”  St. Philip Neri

Will power can do a lot of wonderful things, but it is certainly limited.  Humility, purity, patience, selflessness…these are virtues that need to be strengthened in us by God in prayer.  During holy communion, I beg Christ to help me with my personal struggles for virtue.  At times, we are like David fighting Goliath and we simply cannot win these daily battles without God’s assistance.
