At the tomb of Saint John Paul II
I thought that headline might get your attention.
Those of you who are acquainted with me know I have been working in Public Relations for the Legion of Christ and Regnum Christ for about six years. Most of those articles of late, flashing on the screen of the North American websites, have been written by me.
I have lived through many highs and lows with all of you, and seen lots of painful things happen externally, but mainly internally – mostly due to our dwindling finances. Because the scandal with our founder erupted just prior to the economic crisis in the US (leaving a hole from which we are hopefully and finally seeming to climb out of) many, many of our supporters over time closed their purses and their doors.
Every year afterwards, I thanked God that I still had a paid position. However, this year I was not so fortunate. I am in solidarity with those of you who are now joining the ranks of the unemployed. You are in my prayers.
But I have to say, I am not afraid. I am well aware of the admonition to not give in to fear. Apparently it’s mentioned in sacred scripture 365 times, once for every day of the year. I don’t think our Lord could have been clearer than that.
But the words of scripture are not the only reason I face the future with hope and trust. I also have to lean on the examples of the members of this Regnum Christi movement that I have witnessed through the years — those who stayed to fight the good fight.
I want to say to all my colleagues, who have stood valiantly in the midst of the battle, taking blow after blow with grace and courage, and to our beautiful priests and wonderful consecrated men and women, and my fellow RC members: in awe, I have seen you be Christ-like, fallen and bleeding from the “beatings” of the world that had little concern for your sufferings and only condemnation to offer in your distress. I have seen you, through your tears, get right up and keep on going. And I have been with you long enough to see the sunrise coming, to witness the healing of wounds, the fruits of perseverance and the confirmation from our Church, who chose to walk with us as we trod our narrow path.
I want to tell you all, you are my heroes. And I am not leaving you. I just won’t be getting paid (financially) by you anymore.
May God continue to richly bless all of you. Let’s go make apostles of the whole world!

Thank you Kelly for all you have done. You have brought many smiles and encouragement to us over the years. I know that Our Lord has wonderful things in store for you. I was where you are in 2010 when we closed down the Hamden Fundraising Office. In 2012, I was re-hired to work right at the seminary in Cheshire which is even more wonderful. May God bless you and fill you with joyful anticipation.
