God will protect you

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty…He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and a bulwark.”  Psalm 91:1, 4

Several years ago, I was on a hike in a remote part of Mexico with a group of my fellow priests.  As we walked past a small farm, I noticed a mother hen with several of her baby chicks nearby.  As we approached the nest, she quickly gathered all of the baby chicks under her wings and looked attentively and aggressively at us as we walked by.  God our Father is much the same way.  He cares about us so much, and when he sees enemies approaching, he is constantly calling out for us to find refuge under his wings…but he respects our freedom and will not force us to come.  Do not fear God, he loves you intensely and wants to help you through all of your bumps and challenges!
