The following is the first installment of blogs from Regnum Christi consecrated woman Jana Crea and her missionary team of young women on the most recent mission trip to Haiti.
Our mission “family” all began our journey to Haiti yesterday and are happy to finally be “home” at the Guesthouse.
We had our first meal together after picking up Mary Kate from the airport. Mary Jo and Christina were happy to have her join us after a long time with only me for company.
Tonight we shared a bit of the story of how each of us got here (meaning how God worked to get us here together.) Each one has a personal story of what brought her here and it is easy to see the hand of God at work. There were also a few questions about what we will be doing here and what to expect. The bottom line is to expect that no matter what we do, God will work. There was a lot of openness to trying things that might be outside our comfort zone…
Tomorrow we will go to the Children’s Home…a good way to begin our mission, helping to take care of the orphaned and sick children the Missionaries of Charity serve near our “home” at the guesthouse. Even though we all may not know quite what to expect, we know loving children may not be too tough a task for us.
We ask you to pray for us as we work with the people here.
