Humble Cross

“We are at Jesus’ disposal. If he wants you to be sick in bed, if he wants you to proclaim His work in the street, if he wants you to clean the toilets all day, that’s all right, everything is all right. We must say, “I belong to you. You can do whatever you like.” And this is our strength, and this is the joy of the Lord.” – Blessed Mother Teresa

I often reflect on the Blessed Virgin Mary’s simplicity and docility to God’s plan over her life.   Most of her days were spent cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, and of course, lots of praying.  Not a lot of glamour and glitz, but she lived an awful lot of virtue!  We can offer up these “everyday tasks” with great love for the many souls who have been entrusted to us…don’t waste this suffering and try to do it with a positive spirit!   St. Theresa of Lisieux would often see Jesus walking among the pots and pans…he does notice!
