To see Christ in everyone

“I see in my neighbor the Person of Jesus Christ.” -Saint Gerard Majella

Last Monday, I rushed to get to the bus for long term parking and jumped in the open door near the driver. Within a few seconds, the driver addressed me, “I need your help. My wife recently died unexpectedly, I have been trying to take care of my two kids and keep up this job and I almost had a nervous breakdown. I was the black sheep of my family, so they do not support me, and I am a fallen away Catholic and made the huge mistake of turning away from God…I hope I am not bothering you, but I am running out of options.” Ten minutes later, he committed to finding out his nearest Parish through Masstimes.org, going to Mass once a week, reading Scripture, and being open to finding a new wife to support him and his kids. This was a good man with a good heart…and I could see Christ suffering in him!
