1. Car time: Constant awareness of the presence of Christ as your traveling companion, friend and older brother. Strive for conversations with Christ or the Blessed Mother from the heart, taking a break from technology and re-charging your spiritual batteries. For example, “Jesus, I have had a long day at work and am about to walk in the door. Please give me strength and patience to be a loving presence for my family”
2. Bible break. Have your Bible accessible at home or work and prayerfully read a brief passage from the Gospels. Allow Christ to apply his words to your everyday life…listen attentively to his inspirations! 3-5 minutes of your lunch break?
3. Decade of the rosary, remembering individual family members as you go through each Hail Mary.
4. Eucharistic life. Google Masstimes.org to discover the daily Mass schedule for Parishes within a reasonable distance of work or home. Stop in for a brief visit to Christ in the Eucharist in between errands and appointments.
5. Conscience Exam. In the presence of God, look back on the day to see what road blocks or obstacles you put in God’s way and acknowledge the small victories as well.
