We can nowhere evade the presence of God

“We may ignore, but we can nowhere evade the presence of God. The world is crowded with Him. He walks everywhere incognito.”

― C.S. Lewis

God can often speak to us and touch us directly through other people. While in El Salvador, we visited an 86 year old lady in a remote village in the mountains. As we arrived inside her humble abode, she offered her seat to one of the dads on the mission trip and almost fell over in the process. I asked her how she was doing, and and she said, “Fr. Michael, I have continuous migraine headaches, my lower back hurts a lot, I have a heart disease and my knees are shot, but I am hanging in there.” As she was speaking there was a glow and peace from her face which really impressed the dads and kids who were with me. God spoke to me through this woman…joyful acceptance of whatever God wants to send our way, brings deep peace and inspires others!
