Prayer opens up to receive the gift of God

“Prayer opens us to receive the gift of God — his wisdom — which is Jesus himself, in order to accomplish the Father’s will in our lives and thus to find rest amidst the hardships of our journey.” (Pope Benedict XVI, December 7, 2011)

One of the most popular places in St. Peter’s Basilica is the adoration chapel. There are always a few nuns in perpetual adoration, praying for the Pope and his intentions, and there is a endless flow of people walking into this chapel. Some stay for just a few minutes and others for a long period of time on their knees in deep prayer, and all respect the silence of this sacred room. They walk in with heavy burdens and walk out with peace…you can see it! Go the Eucharist, open your heart up to Christ. Trust that he is listening, that he truly cares and that he will respond in a way that is best for you!
