Share the Light of Christ

“A single sunbeam is enough to drive away many shadows.”— St. Francis of Assisi

During one of my recent visits to DC, a female security guard was sitting on a bench and looked a little downcast.  She saw me walking up the sidewalk from a distance and shouted, “Reverend, so good to see you.  Could you please share an uplifting word with me?  Anything, anything would be fine.”  She definitely caught me off guard, but I tried to focus and said, “M’am, never doubt that Jesus loves you very much, and he is always with you.”  With a beaming smile, she said, “Thank you, Reverend, thank you!”

Most people have many shadows and challenges in their lives, and we are all called to bring a little light of Christ into this darkness.  It doesn’t take much, just try to listen to the Holy Spirit!
