“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
One summer day, as I was peddling along on my “training wheels” bicycle in the driveway, I saw my dad come out with a screw driver, and he said “Mike, it’s time to take off the training wheels…I am going to help you really ride a bike.” After a few minutes, the training wheels were off. My dad looked at me with a smile and said, “Ok, Mike, jump back on the bike and I will hold the handle bars to keep you steady.” His confidence was contagious and I immediately jumped back on the bike. He asked me to peddle a bit and while still holding onto the handle bars, he jogged backwards…and then with a big smile he asked, “Mike, are you ready for me to let go? I will be right here by your side.” “Sure, dad!” He jogged right beside me and suddenly I was free, peddling away on my own.
Christ is always right there by our side…trust him and keep peddling along!
