Dump your garbage

“And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the holy Spirit.  Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” JN 20: 22,23

Once your sins have been dumped and forgiven by Christ through the absolution of a priest, leave them in the dumpster.  God has forgiven and forgotten them and you need to as well.  There are too many wastebaskets with old garbage festering in the hearts and minds of too many souls.  If you have not yet dumped your sins, go to a priest and get rid of this old garbage…and then don’t allow those sins to waste a drop of your thoughts, time or energy.  Trust in the infinite mercy of God!!

As our parish priest recently put it: God forgives you through the sacrament of confession but don’t forget to forgive yourself.
