The other day, I was asked to help a parish priest with his penance service. When I arrived, I could immediately tell that he was sick and during the Confessions, I could hear his persistence cough in the Confessional next door.. He does not have an associate priest in residence, so it must be tough to keep going day after day, regardless of his health or personal issues.
