I have reinforcements on the updates of the IEC 2016. If you want to follow it from the perspective of a consecrated woman, you can check the blog of Cathy Floro: https://cathyfloro.wordpress.com/
Yesterday, I had a very nice experience on how much the Philippine people appreciate their priests. In order to go to some of the talks you need to get a ticket. Yesterday I arrived late to the ticket booth and the person working there told me “Sorry, father, we do not have tickets anymore.” Before I could say anything, a very poor and old Philippine lady that was next to me said, “Do not worry father, you can use my ticket please!” That gesture of generosity deeply moved me, and right away I thanked her and told her that I was a seminarian and would try to get the ticket somewhere else. The people of this country really see Jesus in their priests with the eyes of faith.
Today the conference that most impressed me was the testimony of Paul Ponce. He is a world famous juggler from Argentina. After performing for, showing off his amazing juggling skills, he shared how the Eucharist changed his life. At early age he was already famous, had all money and pleasure he could desire. It was all about himself. Later on, during his preparation to Confirmation he learned about the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. He wondered why people were not flocking to meet Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament every day. He himself started to go to Mass daily. At this point, he met Regnum Christi and gave a year of his life to Regnum Christi as a missionary. He would consecrate to the Sacred Heart every day the wife God was preparing for him, and after ten years waiting he finally met her. Now they have three children and are waiting for the fourth one. The center of their family is the Eucharist.
Tomorrow is a big day since we have the youth rally of the Eucharistic Congress. I invite you to say a prayer for all the youth that will be present, so that they also may have an intimate encounter with the Eucharist.
