At 10:00 am the chapel of the Missionaries of Charity in Delmas was packed, Almost 30 MCs were present accompanying two of their Sisters in their renewal of vows. I was able to join them. Mass was celebrated by the New Cardinal of Haiti, His Eminence Cardinal Shibly Langlois. A very simple ceremony with very simple words: “I vow poverty, chastity and obedience to my one and only love, Jesus”.
During break, I went to pray to the chapel and I saw an altar clothed with the following inscription: “The Bridegroom is here”. As I started praying I looked up and read the famous Bl. Mother Theresa phrase: I Thirst. At first it was nothing, just silence, but after a few minutes of prayer it came to me: “The Bridegrooms is here and He Thirsts”. Yes, He thirsts for generous souls who will leave it all to follow Him; He thirsts for missionaries who are willing to get out to the roof tops and proclaim His message of love; He thirsts for young people who will commit to the New Evangelization.
The Bridegroom is here and He Thirsts for your “yes”! Don’t keep Him waiting. Open your hearts and hear His voice; He is calling out for you! He needs you to be His hands, His feet, His heart, to go out and tell the world He is alive!
