Last week we reflected on Joy. This week let’s take another look at the manger scene and look for hope!
Hope: Again, what can I expect from a baby in a cave, or of some shepherds talking of “crazy tidings.” Is there something to it?
The future, my future, your future, lies in that manger. What that small child carries in his heart is what will make the world turn around. He carries love and with love, hope! Hope that brings light. That small baby reminds us that heaven is near; he will open the door for us; he brought heaven down to earth. What is my hope resting upon? When I see the small baby do I hope for something?
Pope Francis invites us: “We must restore hope … help the old, be open to the future, and spread love. Be poor among the poor. We need to include the excluded and preach peace.”
