Christ is not only a fireman

“You must ask God to give you power to fight against the sin of pride which is your greatest enemy – the root of all that is evil, and the failure of all that is good. For God resists the proud.” — St. Vincent de Paul

My grandfather was a full time fireman in Detroit and he saw plenty of action, especially during the riots of the late 1960’s. He was trained to respond immediately and efficiently to all calls for help, and for the most part, he was very successful. Many people see Christ only as a fireman; they call on in times of death, or personal struggle…but not as a friend who wants to accompany them each step of the way. Don’t go it alone!!
