Along with the famous existential question “to be or not to be”, comes another philosophical one: “What came first, the chicken or the egg?”
Can one exist without the other? We encounter the same situation with faith and reason. But the fact is that they need each other; they are meant to work together.
Our mind is like a big door with a double lock, we need a key to open it: Faith and reason! Faiths unlock the ideas and reason the truth. Faith seeks understanding, while the mind’s search for truth, finds inspiration, guidance and fulfillment.
Don’t forget, when we face big moral or painful circumstances, let’s get the doors of our heart unlocked with the faith to see God’s action and reason to understand His ways.
Prayer: Lord, grant me the grace to open my mind more fully to your light, to see your truth, which reveals the grandeur of our human dignity and vocation.
Action: Make a visit to the Eucharist and repeat slowly “I believe in you my Lord and My God”
