What are they — young people — seeking? What are we seeking? What am I seeking?
TO BE LOVE AND TO LOVE. We are seekers of love! I finally figured it out today in my meditation and during our day at Sanfil: Home of the Dying.
242 patients (AIDS, TB, Malaria, Cancer) and 24 missionaries. Each has a story. The come from different backgrounds, different faiths. But they have one thing in common: the need for love.
I read today in the Magnificat: “…in the poor, in those who need our help, the Lord is waiting to fill us with the knowledge, the joyful knowledge that we are loved. And this knowledge is knowledge that heals. If we are wounded, help others who are suffering our wound and it will quickly be healed over, because we meet Christ”.
So I invite you, if you are wounded in any way; physically, morally, spiritually; I challenge you to help others who are suffering. I promise that your wound will quickly be healed, or at least the pain will be diminished. I witnessed it today when 80 ladies got up from their beds to sing and dance as the missionaries sang, and saw the missionaries forget the heat, the sweat, the tiredness to improvise more songs for them to dance to.
Why? Because we each met Christ himself today in the others, and He is THE GREAT HEALER!
