Did it ever happen to you that someone tells you something or that you read something that was just what you needed to hear at the time and you just had to say: “Lord, is it you talking to me”?
Not long ago someone gave a holy card. I put it in the pocket inside my cassock and later on when I took it out I was shocked; it hit me right between my eyes.
It had two images of Mary with Jesus from “The passion” and the words that Our Lady of Guadalupe said to St. Juan Diego: “ Listen, put it into your heart, my little child, that the thing that frightens you, the thing that afflicts you, is nothing: do not let it disturb you… Am I not here, I who am you Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need something more?”
After reading that I was sure it was the Blessed Mother talking to me about a particular thing. The thought kept coming to me and in a matter of days that particular thing was solved. Mary had come through! She always does, like we experience with our mothers. They are there for us day in and day out. Sometime we don’t even need to tell them anything — they just have a glance at us and already know it all…
As we continue the month of May, dedicated to Our Lady, I’d like to invite you to entrust to Mary any particular intention you may have. Maybe it’s something you hope for but have lost faith in. Maybe it’s a particular need you have; maybe it’s a grace for someone else whatever it is, entrust it to the Blessed Mother with all your confidence. She wants to come through for you!
I’ll keep your intentions on my prayers in a special way during my rosary in this month of May, and I also take advantage to ask you to please pray for the all the brothers who are finishing their philosophy studies in Thornwood and in Rome and who are going out to internship this summer. May the Blessed Mother take care of you and all of us!
