If you suffer more, love more!

“The cross and nails could never have held the God-man had not the power of charity held him.”  — St. Catherine of Sienna

I just met with a few Juniors in High School. They are stressed out, worn down, and really spent after a long year of intense studies, SAT testing and varsity sports. I told one of them about the power of “offering up” his daily sufferings for a good intention and this seemed to resonate. Don’t waste your sufferings! Make your daily cross redemptive by offering it up for a sick relative, a family member or friend who is going through a rough patch, or for the souls in purgatory. This effort will send many graces in their direction. If you suffer more, love more!
