God’s loving plan

“Certainly we come from our parents and we are their children, but we also come from God, who has created us in his image and called us to be his children.  Consequently, at the origin of every human being there is not something haphazard or chance, but a loving plan of God.” (Pope Benedict XVI, July 9, 2006)

Chance encounters, interesting connections, spoken words that ring true, an inspiration from Sacred Scripture or personal prayer…God can work through human instruments and daily events, and it is important to be attentive and aware of God’s creative action every day of our lives.   I look back on each day and try to discover what God may have been trying to tell me, and I ask him to reveal his plan if I am missing the boat.  My biggest concern as a priest is not to get in God’s way!
