“For I know well the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woe! plans to give you a future full of hope. When you call to me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with all your heart, you will find me with you, says the Lord, and I will change your lot; I will gather you together from all the nations and all the places to which I have banished you, says the Lord, and bring you back to the place from which I have exiled you.” Jeremiah 29: 11-15
Whenever I speak to my mom, I always get the sense that she is listening to everything: my words, my emotions, my facial expressions…trying to process all of the content to fully understand what I am trying to say. Whenever I call my mom at home or on her cell phone, she will either pick up immediately or call back the same day. She is never too busy for her children. This is best analogy that I can use to reflect on the verse above…Christ listens to us attentively when we pray. He is always available for us and eager and willing to help. He is an amazing friend, and time spent with him is always well spent. Christ listens, Christ is always available, Christ really cares!
