Be kind

“The nicest thing we can do for our heavenly Father is to be kind to one of his children.”  (St. Teresa of Avila)

I still remember being fascinated as a kid by a bird’s nest around my house.  You could hear these little birds crying out for their mom, crying out for worms and food, so defenseless and in need of protection.  The mother bird would eventually fly into the nest and resolve all these problems.

I have always been impressed by the level of sacrifice of moms who live to care for their children.  So much patience, so much kindness, so much time spent reading and playing games with them, feeding them, changing their diapers and trying to make them laugh.  God the Father notices this effort and it deeply consoles his heart.  After all, he created the immortal souls of these children and he loves them all intensely.  He wants to love them through you!
