Do look forward in fear!

“Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life; Rather look to them with full hope that as they arise, God, whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things; And when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His arms.” St. Francis de Sales

8th Graders worry about the transition to High School.  Seniors in High School worry about the transition to college life.  College students worry about finding a job.  Moms worry about the formation of their children.  Dads worry about job security.  I was recently on the phone with my mom and asked her what tips she would give to all the moms out there.  She responded, “Well, Michael, you need to ask for God’s help to be patient.  Patience is so hard!  And you need to really trust in God.  With these two tips you can sail through and survive motherhood.  It’s not easy.  There is no such thing as the perfect family.  You really need God, you can’t do it without him.  I don’t know how people survive without his help.”   Then she added, “Lately, the car is my chapel…I am there alone to communicate with God.”  Personally, knowing Christ is in my boat gives me great confidence as I continue to sail into the sunset.
