“Listen, and let it penetrate your heart, my dear little child; do not be troubled or weighted down with grief. Do not fear any illness or vexation, anxiety or pain. Am I not here who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not your fountain of life? Are you not in the folds of my mantle? In the crossing of my arms? Is there anything else you need?” – The Blessed Virgin Mary (of Guadalupe) to St. Juan Diego, 1500 A.D.
Besides the daily rosary, all of the Legionaries make a visit to our Blessed Mother every night before going to bed, praying for the Church, the Pope and for our final perseverance. We also begin our day with a brief visit to Mary asking her for the grace to be faithful followers of her son. Personally, I have a little image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the dashboard of my car and in my office as a constant reminder of her gentle and loving presence in my life. Thank you Mary, for being such a caring Mom and for helping me in so many ways!
Father Michael,
Most of the time, I pray to God, forgetting to pray the Virgin Mary save for the morning prayer which I read from the RC book.
Do you have any reading to suggest which would explain why mary is so important? Thanks
Francois….I checked with Father Michael and here is his recommendation: “True Devotion to Mary” by St. Louis de Montfort.
