Grabbing the bull by the horns

“When the days for his being taken up were fulfilled, he resolutely determined to journey to Jerusalem.”  (Lk 9: 51)

Christ did not postpone or run away from his cross, he faced it “resolutely” and with determination.  He grabbed the bull by the horns!  We, too, need to embrace our daily cross with love.  Focus on and love the more difficult child or sibling.  Focus on and love the more difficult mother/father in law or sister/brother in law.  Focus on and love the more difficult co-worker.  These are probably the souls who need the most love and this Lenten season is a golden opportunity for your heart to be stretched a little.  This is your path to greater sanctification.  As Blessed Mother Theresa said, “Love is not true love unless it hurts.”
